A burst of colour dotted the field,
by Lily Chen
Yet again bringing it to life,
From the relentless freezing months,
When pristeen white snow covered the ground,
A few perilous feet deep.
Day after day i gazed,
As more flowers nodded their heads in wisdom,
In the crisp spring breeze,
Which brought the various birds,
Who had abandoned them in the harsher season.
Time ticked by but I waited,
Sometimes the horrible memory flooded back,
Throwing me into a world where I was helpless,
But one evening, born to the world,
A primrose opened its bud....
And I smiled.
