Puppy Love

Puppies prance across my life,
My art, furniture, clothes and shoes
Then wriggle, paws in air,
Wondering what else there is to do.
'Ah - toes! '
Spiky milk teet grapple
With the socks that hide my feet
But then their bearded faces
Pop up and lick me on the cheek.
'We love you, Mum! '
Button eyes and chilly noses,
Frisbee-paws scramble for my knees.
Tender, soft furred babies.
'Mum, give us both a cuddle - please! '
