A little girl full of rage
locked in a cage,
Her heart tied in a knot
from her memory she could not blot,
that awful night that left her life in such a plight,
She ran away from home
only to find herself in a foster home,
Her mind was locked in that time
as though she had committed the crime,
The shadows from the past
would repeatedly harass,
From the nightmare she could not awake
leaving her heart to ache,
Wanting and needing to be loved
but instead she was shoved,
Angry and full of hate
she tried to retaliate;
Until the day love found her
and made the past seem like a blur.
