Rain On The Windshield

The leaves are changing color
And the road is getting longer
Since the last time I saw your face
I can see the sun setting in my rearview mirror
The storm clouds are rolling in as I’m headin out of here
I’m so glad I’m leavin this place
And the rain is on my windshield
And I’m wishing they’re your tears
The lighting strikes across the sky
For all our wasted years
So long, goodbye
I’m outta here
The thunder is gonna keep going on all night
And the radio aint comin in quite right
There’s a cheap motel at the side of the road
But I need to put some miles between us
The road keeps kickin up more and more dust
The storm clouds are rollin in as I’m headin outta here
And the rain is on my windshield
And I’m wishing they’re your tears
The lighting strikes across the sky
For all our wasted years
So long, goodbye
I’m outta here
Yeah the storm clouds are rolling in
Wishing the rain is your tears
So long, goodbye
I’m outta here

Rain can sometimes be a very lonely sound and you have captured the mood and music of good-bye so well. Regards, Sandra Fowler
