Reality Of The Working Student

Poem By Seán O Muiríosa

I smile like I mean it
Behind the smooth chest high counter
As they stroll in and out
Paying only when they want to –
“Sure tis only the young fella.”

Think I give a damn
If you pay or you don’t?
What bothers me more is your contempt
It's crystal to me
You’ve more than your finances spent.
