Recession, Ucd

Grey clouds gathered on the seashore
Doom and gloom that loomed upon our heads
Markets ebbed and flowed upon the shoreline
People screamed Drowning
And threw themselves in terror from the ship

In Dublin 4 we drank to drown their sorrows
Vodka, Pernod and the cheapest wine
And Daddy filled our pockets up with treasure
Stolen from the pirates at the shore
and we peered out rose tinted windows
smelled the sea salt in the breeze
And felt nothing

Sun always shines in UCD
