Red Lipstick

These words and more I’ll put in a
letter, a couple of
words are smeared on the script.

You say reading them makes you
feel better – but the final
outcome, who can predict?

You know I would travel
many a mile, bring that magic
stick with you on our date –
just to see you painting that
lovely smile, like a slick touch
on a perfect portrait.

Maybe a shade like a
strawberry picked, on my collar
you’ll leave the faintest trace,
then pressing to the mouth –
can you depict the memory
of a loving embrace.

There is something magic,
a kind of trick – attracting
lips to lips, then makes them stick.
