Reflections Of Dreams Unfulfilled

A busy junction of a road.
Kaleidoscope of lives lived on this planet
Churning in the furnace called life
Experiences, reflecting on a life polished harshly

Nothing. Nowhere. No one…
Numbness creeps in ever so silently
As though life’s mission has been stolen
By younger limbs hearts and minds

There was hope, dreams and vision
He had seen that no one ever did
When he had a daily destination
People who followed and respected him

Yet when the day came so close
When the hearts and gates closed for him
He stood on the sidewalk reflecting
His glorious past and his uncertain future

He saw the wimp kid begging for meeting his ends
Kids cherubic smiles yet so insecure
Lifes grind that he always never noticed
Pausing for the harshness terrified him.

Long way back home to his beloved ones
Yearning for time with them
In their mad rush he had become a stranger
To their heart and souls

He needed a life of dignity
Eluding life’s harshest reality
Still continue to hope, dream and see
In his ageing cocoon and not in this furnace
