Refracted Vision

I see myself,
Every flaw and every fracture,
I am riddled with them,
Underpinning my world.

They see myself,
Every flaw and every fracture,
The shadow in the sky
Or the hand that hurts.

They don’t see me,
The flaws or the fractures,
They focus on what falls off,
What I leave behind.

They see myself,
Every flaw and every fracture,
They carve them into crystals,
Saying I sparkle in the sun.

She sees myself,
Every flaw and every fracture,
She sees through clearly,
Sharing my dreams.

She is too good for me.

I see myself
And smile,
I wouldn’t change a thing,
Every flaw and every fracture
Is my world.
