Regrets

What is it I have in Life?
Why did I wish to live alone?
Away from my Family Life?
Away from my Family Home.

I came to London in 2002
For work which seemed ‘too good to be true’.
With hindsight, I knew that it was wrong,
During times of ill-health, I sing this song.

Being alone, at times depressed,
Popping Medicine Cocktails, so the pain is suppressed,
Will they succeed ~ these prescribed drugs,
When will my body be well again?

I have not been out for the last eight weeks,
Living alone is not what I seek,
Will I be pain free, and get some sleep?
Some time soon ~ not next week.

There are times in one’s life
When being away from one’s ‘trouble and strife,
Seems good to do your own thing,
I realise now ~ how wrong I have been.
