She lay pale and emaciated,
by Kwai Chee Low
weeks of medication has taken its toll.
The setting sun's warm glow caressed her face.
Will she see tomorrow's rising sun?
Faces of childhood friends now so clear,
happy days of glee and fun.
Is it a sign that the end is near?
Never before has life meant so dear.
If time can be turned back,
she would cherish all those moments,
live the dreams she thought inconceivable,
and embrace all that life throws at her.
