Poem By Gilbert Burgess

Slowly, the decorations come down.
The bows, the garland, the lights.
Each ornament is removed form the tree, carefully wrapped and put away.
The crystal swan from Aunt Mary,
The "TEACHERS ARE SPECIAL" ornament form Robyn.
The treasures of a lifetime of collecting.
All lovingly wrapped, packed and stored away in the attic.
Quietly awaiting the passage of another year, when they will again awaken the memories of holidays past.
