Retrospection

Poem By Dr. Nikhat Bano

Searching for my pearl oysters,
once I dived into moving memories;
To win moments that were blissful,
once I was in the utmost coral reefs.

Have often dreamt that we are together,
in bleak nights sharing heats of our past;
At times, I see you passing by my side,
no wonder, with the same cold glance.

When I see you, I wish to erase you,
from my time, from my universe;
In your eyes, I see a merchant on a go,
selling mystic whims and tinted dreams.

All these years I was gathering rays,
sitting alone under azure sky;
To lighten up my darkened nights
in a cavern of forlorn sprites.

All these years I was picking moments
from the melting ocean of aeon;
At dusk, I too set with the sun,
with a hope to shine on a new morn.

A Message

The rays have brought your message
Piercing through my closed window
I can read a golden hued line
'I'll be yours, all my life'

Waiting To See A Daybreak

Standing alone at one end of the street
Is nerve wrecking;
Staring from nowhere to nothingness
Chills my spine.

Tanu: My Sister

A lily truth herself, a soul so pure,
who gets amused just by the sight,
of humble lilies of her courtyard;
Swaying during day, smelling during night.

A Glance Says All

Glowing as a lamp I saw a lone onlooker,
adorned with the flares of sun - one Gloria;
Unleashing a blaze of beauty around her,
lighted my heart's patio with her wine aura.

My Musings

You listen to all my whisperings,
you know what lies in my heart;
Your gazes follow my breaths,
only you can foretell my untold parts.

Pieces Of Life

Holding pieces of my jigsaw puzzle
I'm wandering from earth to heaven
Searching places for my oddities
Putting them at their right places
