Ridgid

Poem By Lori Halverson

A Tree stands upright
It sees the children playing all around
It wants to join in
It can’t
It’s frozen

A Tree stands upright
It remembers when it was young and flexible
It longs for that now
It can’t
It’s ridged

Fear

Beware of Fear he is a wayward guide-
Adventure and Promise, he’ll brush aside-
Replaced with only Compromise-
To see you to the future
