Rise Isabel

Poem By Antonia deChirico

I sit here healing
My id revealing
Isabel awakened
subconscious shakened

Now I ponder
My childhood wonder
Lying in my bed
As my father read

Ravenous bears parade
On pleated lampshade
Mind shadows rigorous
Soul made vigorous

Daughter child then
Now woman with pen
Giants are hideous
Doctors oblivious

This poem's prose brought back vidid images of magical childhood times. A life back then when there was always time, (no matter how hectic or busy a parent's day was) to share, teach and unknowingly impact on someones future direction and ambitions through the now almost forgotten ritual of the bedtime story. Fondly Wish I was a child again
