Robotic Nights

Poem By Johnny Lennox

Plans to walk and gawk
On sunny days
In a roaring city haze
Outside my window
Where people scream
And men clean
The stench of last nights
Unfulfilled hedonistic dreams

Drink guzzling
Inducing
Birthing
Feelings
Pulsating bodies
Like heartbeats
Wide eyed in dark
Machinery boxes
Where Robotic fingers
Coordinate
The pen of our destiny

Guzzle!
Guzzle!
Hands pressed upon flesh
Until finally
Inevitably
We emerge into the
Grey realities
Intent to retire atop our canopies
Naked

With the exposure to dawns
Our pupils burst with the
Norms!
Norm
Norms!

City moaners
Dragging themselves
Through self doubt and hate
As a smiling couple shift by
Enhanced and elated
Oh such a beautiful state
