Rumination

Poem By Cory Harrison

Sitting on the banks of the river,
Watching the Styx flow by.
Father, Mother, Holy Ghost,
And a pistol by my side.

Saw my future in the water,
But I've seen it all before.
Heard a band of angels calling me,
Drowning along the shore.

Lost in the world of the jaded,
Living in a borrowed dream.
Looking for a piece of happiness,
Not stretched beyond it's means.

Been searching for a lifetime,
A Catcher in the Rye.
Seeking my fantasies,
What'll never be reached in life.
