Ruth Again

Poem By Fred Babbin

Ruth –
You sweet tart apple –
Lying on the ground,
I found you,
overlooked
by all the apple-pickers.

I was
so lucky.

You have that tartness
that wakes me up
and sometimes
makes me wince.

I can’t imagine
any other life
Except ours.

And would
That I could
Rhyme much better
Than I can.
