Sad Girls

Human beings are fragile and need love
In this painful existence that begins with a slap
And often spirals downward into abuse
From the people who should desire to protect us.
Unkindness accumulates at school
And in the workplace,
You lose your original face
Of innocence and joy.

I’ve met sad girls I’ve wanted to kiss,
Rock them in my arms for eternity,
Remove the emotional scars of their history,
But I know, such scars never leave,
They’re deep razorblade-like cuts into the soul.

I haven’t learned yet
If I’m attracted to troubled and tragic girls,
Or if that is the only type of girl
I should expect.

If you can help them Uriah, then it doesn't matter what they are, if you love them, the same thing applies. We all have ups and down times in life, we can't be perfection all the time. Nice write Uriah, thoughtful and moving. Love Ernestine XXX
Wonderful poetry penned by a great human being.. Take care, Uriah. Sandra
The thing with troubled and tragic: you cannot make them better; they have to want it. A tender-hearted meditation, Uriah...
I bet it would be hard to find a woman you didn't love Uriah! You're just a kind soul. Wonderful poem. Sincerely, Mary
Tough question. Very pleasing poem. You raise the ugly truth of our social chaos so well. Time to change the attitude, start loving and respecting each other no matter the colour or sex. Smiling at your sweet nature and sincerity for a man! lol couldn't resist! ! ! lol Tai
