San Diego At Night

A jeweled, sparkling city,
Setting high in the hills
Overlooking this circular bay,
By day
The wind and the sand and the sea,
Are scattered round about,
Following the shoreline northward,
South across the border route.
Sparkling diamonds on the water,
Sailboats in the sun,
The ocean has a glittering quality,
Reserved for clear days and fun.
Bikinis and the beaches,
Spread wide on every side,
On these warm days by the ocean,
As the tide ascends and subsides.
