If The Owl Calls Again

at dusk
from the island in the river,
and it's not too cold,

I'll wait for the moon
to rise,
then take wing and glide
to meet him.

We will not speak,
but hooded against the frost
soar above
the alder flats, searching
with tawny eyes.

And then we'll sit
in the shadowy spruce
and pick the bones
of careless mice,

while the long moon drifts
toward Asia
and the river mutters
in its icy bed.

And when the morning climbs
the limbs
we'll part without a sound,

fulfilled, floating
homeward as
the cold world awakens.

So sad as we ought to be in it. Don't trust as you have the trust.
My trust too was shattered by someone I loved and devoted myself to. You have to trust in yourself because no one can take that away from you! You will be stronger and better by learning to let go and trust in yourself. Be Well
Trust in others erodes sometimes when one goes through bad experience.Trusting oneself, gathering strength from inside and moving ahead is real victory in life. But trust, there are many loving souls around.
As a former English teacher, I can't help suggesting a few corrections: I'm scared to trust now. I had my trust broken many times before. I was left a broken girl. I still am broken inside. I simply cannot trust. It's not you; it's me. My trust can't be broken again. So don't ask me to trust 'Cause I can't do it. I'm too scared to trust.
A very sweet poem. Trust is important in life. Nice.
