Seasons Will Change

Poem By Rafael Cazares

The seasons will change
So never find it strange
When you think everything to be
Mutilated and deranged.

Don't see like the fool
Who thinks he can perpetually be
Solemn and cool-
We are a vast, raging sea
(Pools of Sensations)
Of feelings, needs, & desires-
The consistent labor of a never-ending spiral:
A reacting spectacle,
Surveyors of a mighty ocean
(A dangerous adversary one would say)
Running in half-crazed motions.

And so the seasons will change
Restoring and destroying the range
The young will age
And a fiery eagle tamed
the living will decay

But don't see it strange
When everything has become
Mutilated
And Deranged.
