Self

Poem By Lee Martz

You knew how it would go
That I would go
Break apart my soul
You are a fool to believe
The words that come out of me

I speak to make you stop
I speak to intimidate
Let you see my rage and you are nothing
The wise man is a fool
The fool is worthless

In my eyes the world dies
I can turn the windows to my soul on and off
Let you see all my pain at once
All my rage in an instant
And you know the fear

Without love man loses his way
But love is not true
Without the devotion
And there is none devoted
So I stay

And so I do pray
Do the being I question
Not that which conceived me
But that which birthed the world
The very one that hurts
