Sensual Thunder

Poem By Eila Mahima Jaipaul

Like a cumulus cloud
enlarged before
a grand rainstorm
you roll in
removing the air
and parting anything
that lay in your path.
you plant gentle kisses
that circle through the night
like anonymous birds
randomly resting
where ever they wish to light.

A sound
grows gradually in the East
driving everything apocalyptically before it:
moonbeams and cattle and rainbows and lovers
are all swept away
helpless against it.
