Shining Diamonds

Everyone is a diamond,
Studding the jewellers velvet
Like a heaven full of stars.
From uncut stone
Carved out by our makers
To be the jewel in their crown.
Perceptions and experience
Distort and refract,
The view we each have
As unique as our appearance
And how brightly we shine.
Peering out at familiar faces
From every conceivable angle,
Not seeing what is there,
Never can you see all.
The cold hard shell
Of first impressions
Distort.
Understanding is unattainable
Until you learn to look through
Into a world of rainbows
And the dreams of us all.
Then all that is left is to sit back,
Look to the heavens,
And enjoy the view.
