Should Of Kept My Distance

You were just another girl
until you said that we were friends,
I would occasionaly hit on you
and lil notes i would send.

You were always so cool
i wanted to ask you out,
My friends told me i should
but then id have my doubt.

We would talk everyday in class
you would tell me about your friends,
but i never cared
so i would just pretend.

You wanted to be different
you didnt want to blend,
I dont want to make you mad
so i wont say thats just a trend.

Then one day you had to tell me
that you liked some other guy,
Didnt know what to think of that
i just let out a sigh.

Asked me what i thought of him
the truth you wanted me to breathe,
I only told you another lie
my words they'd make you bleed.

Now my heart is twisted
its in a blend,
Its just another break
that i doubt you want to mend.

I keep a wall between us
its all i have for resistance,
All i know now is
I should of kept my distance.

The title and the last line need urgent attention. H
A ballad poem that works because it tells us that you want to buy her a dozen roses and a merry-go-round!
