Shrouded

Poem By Mohamed Eid

A shroud is wrapped around a rose

Forsaken beauty is concealed

These animal arms and monkey head

Give no chance for nothing but dreams

Crippled dreams; buried alive

Her face is a lantern in their graveyard

They see the light and fly away

To settle on the land of chances

Where they're strangled everyday

Women

Women come and women go

And what is left is our yearning

Eyes

Your eyes, they rove

In every stranger's face

Departure

My love for you is an ocean of purity

And the tides they carry our kisses to the shore

Bound

I am bound for the sea; your heart in my heart
An ambassador from the garden
