Sight

I see
In your eyes
The beginning of Time
Fragrant flower
In new-made Earth
Unfolding its soft blush of color
Many-petaled splendor
In the blinking morn…

I see
In your face
The sharp blade of sorrow
Born of a legion
Of tempest-tossed tears
The wisdom of the ages
Encapsulated there…

I see
In your heart
The soft ray of starlight
Glistening like sapphire
Through the void
Of blackest night…

I see
Now and forever
Are one and the same
With you here beside me
Together
I see.
