Sin

I am putting it all on hold.
The love.
The happiness...
and all that mess.

I won't smile,
till this comes
and that goes.
I won't laugh
until this day
and that day.

I am putting it all on hold.
The love.
The happiness...
and all that mess.

I won't write that
book till
there is someone
to read it,
or sing that song,
till there is someone
to hear it.

I won't cut my hair
till there is someone
to compliment it.
I won't wear that
dress until there
is somewhere to
go in it.

I am putting it all on hold.
The love.
The happiness...
and all that mess.

I won't hug him
until he hugs me.
I won't kiss him
until he kisses me.
I won't love him
until he loves me.

I won't be happy,
until happiness
comes.
I won't be free
until freedom
shines through.

not a single thing
I'll do...

I am putting it all on hold.
The love.
The happiness...
and all that mess.

I'll just let time waste
away,
and put things aside
for another day.
And I won't speak
till there is something
to say.

Because

I am putting it all on hold.
The love.
The happiness...
and all that mess.

Until I'm dead.

When the passing of time has spent its cruel course, when tomorrow brings to me your soul, and its source, when you say 'are you here' and I say 'but of course', then I will, indeed, be there.
