Since You've Been Gone
As dawn approaches, I start to feel the pain.
by Ilana Friedman
When you were here life seemed alright.
Now you are gone and nothing will ever be the same.
You've left your sweet memories, but have taken my light.
So I find myself singing that same sad song.
It's the one that I love but try to forget.
Every time I hear it my heart tries to stay strong,
But it tears apart from all the regret.
I'm trying to move on and I'm trying to let go,
I'm trying to restore the hope you took away.
It's just too hard to realize I'm all alone,
It's too hard to see a brand new day.
They say that crying is the best way to let go of all your fears,
But how can I cry if you were the one who wiped away my tears.
