Smile

Poem By Robin Shuler

Smile
when they look at you.
Those 'Go to Hell' looks.
Those looks that seem to say it all -
Just smile.

Laugh
when he breaks your heart.
Tears it to pieces.
Tears you apart and spits you out -
Please laugh.

Sing
when you feel it come.
It's coming for you.
It's going to choke you to death -
So sing.

Dance
when you meet again.
His eyes full of love.
His arms wrapped tightly around you -
Slow dance.

Cry
when she goes away.
Leaves and disappears.
Leaves without a trace or teardropp -
Don't Cry.

Contradiction

You love to hate
-and hate to love.

But Living still feels like

Reminders

Waking up
feels like dreaming
when reality becomes pretend.

Storms

Tell me something new
Just tell me something true...

You dance through lies like rain

Catalyst

So send here woe,
hung all in black,
to wander until stars wane.

Compulsion

Drowning in a pool of music -
every fiber toned to that melody -
she feels the rhythm in her blood.

Goodbye

Wiping the tears from her eyes
She softly whispers her last goodbyes.
So long to all those crazy nights,
Au revoir to all those rising lights.
