Soaring With Syd Barrett

Poem By Velvet Astraea Dido

A ring.
Non-Silence.
Waterfalls
drowning
floating
stones
fishes
bubbles
air
breeze
mist
clouds
raindrops
storm
tornadoes
flying
screaming
beauty
rainbows
fireflies
leaves
fields
wind
circling
hair
falling
soft sheets
crawling
lying
coughing
smoke.
fog.
Taste.
Disconnect.

Comments about Soaring With Syd Barrett

Such a wonderful piece about Syd and my favorite era of Floyd.
Well this is an insider's poem if there ever was one. Didn't Syd pretty much go bonkers after he left Pink Floyd? He did a couple of solo albums and then he disappeared as far as I could tell. The final word in your poem says it all, I guess.

Clash!

leaves split, travel in light speed
as it hums a reflected bright beam
gushing lines in a heartbeat
it skips and serenades

Wings

they are a pair
of unlikely butterflies
wings wide bright
cuddled in the night

Torture

and the thunders roll under my feet
the ground jolted as the sky
trembled in deceit

Snowblind

the dark side of me still lingers
and the paranoia never stops
burried this soul
to dead flowers

And Now I Stand

if you go i will not run after you
not anymore
not in a decade
not in a light year

Lapse

Dark shadows
Heavy rain
flickering spark lights
unfounded; vein,
