Poem By Sharmeen Azam
What a waste on life power of insanity reeks,
on a soul innocent -
not of its own making.
Shadow of self-confinement, with
mind restless, soaring to unknown heights
but suffers no reckoning.
Like a double-edged sword it rips you apart,
Aye, sever the absurd too.
Is that blessing, you say?
Nay! Damnation of your extinction.
No actions taken,
no mistakes held liable,
no good deeds rewarded.
Your being – oblivion.
Like the eclipsed moon on a dark night,
none cares if you glow again.
Expendable, a burden on society,
enslaved in a world civilized, how do
you revolt, demand your rights?
