Some Nuts Are Not Like Others

Poem By Lawrence S. Pertillar

Everyday I try to learn,
Something new.
At least a lesson or two.
And recently I learned,
Some nuts are not like others.

There are some nuts that can be found,
To grow on trees.
Other nuts like peanuts,
Are similar to vegetables.
Harvest from the ground.

And much to my amazement.
There are those nuts.
Possessing unusual qualities.
And quite special.

These nuts no one can define.
Or explain how on Earth.
They can reach heights high to climb.
Without a visable vine.
Yet leave everyone mystified,
That no one has the capability...
To crack their shells.
With it hoped to discover,
The secret of their growth.
Or who or what it was,
That knew exactly what they were doing...
When implementing the experiment.
Changing as if chameleons.
Adaptable to avoid,
Every description to label or depict...
From day to day.

"And you say,
They are nuts? "

I was told they were.
But I now believe,
They are more makers of fools.

"I don't understand."

You're not suppose to.

"That makes no sense at all."
