“Somewhat didactic, ” Aaron said,
by gershon hepner
when Moses showed him all
the Ten Commandments, once he'd read
the print both large and small.
“That's just what they're supposed to be, ”
said Moses, in a huff;
“I'm sure you think that even three
are far more than enough.”
“That's true, ” said Aaron with a laugh,
“I have my standards too, ”
and so he built the Golden Calf,
defying number Two.
Didactic is what didacts do,
but calves are what a cow
makes best, and priests whose wordly view
is in “The Golden Bough”.
