Song: Cath. The Great!

Your cool, steely gaze, could rule empires,
as vast as your deft, human mind.
You light the new pathways, with bonfires,
leaving the dark past behind.
So that's why you're great, my dear Catherine.
There's no debate, for you are!
You joust with cruel fates, and you beat them.
You raise the stakes and the bar.

In lost, younger days, we were lovers,
with a passion so unlike a sin.
At the cost of false praise, like no others,
we move engines of power and spin.
So that's why you're great, my dear Catherine.
You set your sights, fields afar.
You box the cruel fates, and defeat them.
You roll with the punches and spar.

In a scheme that seemed crazed, we were actors.
In idyll, we played mock charades.
The villagers were local factors,
as the shop fronts were paper-mache.
And a dream was redeemed, by illusion;
an old king's guilt was assuaged.
That he saw, what he saw, was delusion,
but yet, it was brilliantly staged.

So that's why you're great, my dear Catherine.
More than a statesman or Tsar.
And I am your loyal Potemkin.
You are my bright, shining star!
So that's why you're great, my dear Catherine.
There's no debate, for you are!
You joust with cruel fates, and you cheat them.
You are my bright, shining star!
