Song: Madame Medusa

Poem By David SmithWhite

Oh, Madame Medusa, how I long to seduce ya!
Can I persuade ya, tomorrow at tea?
Oh, Madame Medusa, how I'd love to reduce ya
to tears, not of sorrow but sublime ecstasy!

Oh, Madame Medusa, you knew I would choose ya,
I studied with interest your stunning career.
Oh, Madame Medusa, so long I've pursued ya;
time is a prisoner counting his years.

Oh, Madame Medusa, if I've never refused ya,
I have but one favour to ask.
Oh, Madame Medusa, if it wouldn't confuse ya,
I'd love ya to take off that mask.
What is uncovered, what secret discovered,
what frightened creature is freed,
from pacing the cells in a solitary hell,
of flustered and frustrated need.

Oh, Madame Medusa, there are those that accuse ya,
of the crimes of ambition and climbing too fast.
But Madame Medusa, you know I'll excuse ya;
confession expunges the misdeeds of the past.

Oh, Madame Medusa, don't let them mis-use ya.
Can you really believe the lies you've been told?
Oh, Madame Medusa, you know they'll abuse ya,
when you're needed no longer, you'll be out in the cold.

Oh, Madame Medusa, your image, it suits ya,
you cut quite a figure when you rattle the bones.
Oh, Madame Medusa, your way is the future:
the mystic embrace for guilt shall atone.

Oh, Madame Medusa, if I've never refused ya,
I have but one favour to ask.
Oh, Madame Medusa, if it wouldn't confuse ya,
I'd love ya to take off that mask.
What is disclosed, so nakedly exposed,
will it grow, will it wither and die?
Will it flee from the night, to the free holy light,
or will it cower in your haunted eye?

Oh, Madame Medusa, I'd so hate to lose ya,
innuendo and slander must not tear us apart.
Oh, Madame Medusa, tell me who screws ya
up? I'll rip out their heart!

Oh, Madame Medusa, I hope I've defused ya;
your plans were bullets carefully aimed.
Oh, Madame Medusa, just tell me who's ya
backer and master in this little game?

Oh, Madame Medusa, I'm no born-again loser!
I know my own power and can re-design fate.
Oh, Madame Medusa, this threat must subdue ya,
or revenge will be sweetened with venom of hate.

Oh, Madame Medusa, how I long to infuse ya
with the bitter, cold purpose that is my destiny.
Oh, Madame Medusa, I see I amuse ya,
as my love slips the lip to plea:

Oh, Madame Medusa, if I've never refused ya,
I have but one favour to ask.
Oh, Madame Medusa, if it wouldn't confuse ya,
I'd love ya to take off that mask.
What is revealed, no longer concealed,
what steals from my passionate gaze?
No hunger released can appease this beast
its wild and desperate ways.

Oh, Madame Medusa, you know I've deduced ya,
feelings that mirror my own.
Oh, Madame Medusa, how can I induce ya,
not to wander the darkness alone?

Comments about Song: Madame Medusa

Thanks Brian. It's pretty weird, I guess and I really have little idea what it's about, but it was fun to write, I remember... Cheers Dave.

Remembering

In my own remembering,
I can see so many things.
Days of bliss were much too brief.
Longer nights of pain and grief.

Come stalking, come stalking,
my pristine and perfect Cat.
Come sly, silent, and with deadly intention,

Oh the folly I showed, when I unraveled the code,

Where the marvels bestowed, be the gift or the goad,
on that hard graveled road called love.

The life of a dog is a dog's life.
It is pain. It is suffering and grief.

A Letter To Hilary

Oh Hilary, dear Hilary;
you must not think ill of me,
though this letter be tardy,
it is mercifully short.
