Sonnet: God-Given Spouse Is Best

The horse once wild looks well-trained and now tamed;
It found a mate to graze life together;
Her joyful heart, no longer looks now maimed;
Both have a mead and life’s changing weather.

The bird once freed enters her cage again;
She isn’t alone, her mate with her resides;
The cage is cozy, boon and not a bane;
It looks so roomy for God dwells besides.

’Tis left to us in life to remain wild;
Marriage is like a bridle and a cage;
No one forever can remain a child;
Most raise a family and die with age.

God-given spouse is best for everyone;
Tho’ many stars, the earth has just one sun!
