The Explorer Crumbles, The Kingdom Falls

the explorer stands
with outstretched hands
in victory, in celebration,
in pure joy,
claiming his kingdom, his bride,
and he bulids castles to her name,
fortresses for conquering kings,
until he sees his kingdom overthrown,
and he weeps
to see the castles crumble and his bride stolen
and his children left homeless
