Sonnet: Progress

Does man deliberate on his misdeeds?
Not as a routine until ’tis quite late;
With sin-shackled soul, man in excess feeds,
On the poor man’s blood and time, until date.

Politics, when ’tis less deleterious,
And the poor get a gowpenful of rice,
Any nation forges ahead; serious
Corruption will be a forgotten vice.

Oh, what delight to see a great nation
In which are bonded, citizens by love!
When will it come, a day ending ration,
And everywhere is seen the sign of dove?

The solution is Democracy; right,
That truly will improve all peoples plight.
