Sonnet: The Driver
He drove my cart, along the lanes, He chose!
by Dr. A.Celestine Raj Manohar M.D.,
And whipped my horses, gently, guiding them;
They neighed when air turned colder to their nose;
He stopped at His stations and said, ‘Ahem! ”
Untying my horses, He gave them a drink;
They stood in a water-pool and bathed clean;
And when night came, in slumber they did sink;
And when it dawned, He gave them fresh, grass, green.
He oiled the wheel’s-hub and we darted off;
The Driver knew His destination next;
Sometimes, He said, “For now, that is enough! ”
His actions always left me very vexed!
We finally got down at last, but then,
To my surprise, I found it was Heaven!
