Sonnet: The Habitual Sinner

And when a person sins again, again,
His mind feels good, less tense for quite sometime!
For he is walking in the devil's lane!
The latter alters not his heart's/mind's clime!

The devil knows his weaknesses, his ways!
The habitual sinner is in his grasp!
With time, he builds a fortified, new base!
Some day, he stings him surely like a wasp!

Beware then, Man, thy soul is in danger!
Thy venial sins can lead to mortal ones!
What use are planes grounded in their hangar!
The valiant face the enemy's big guns!

Come then by prayer, repentance to God!
And plead with Him to truly spare His rod!
