Sonnet: The Himalayan Tragedy

When grief engulfs a Kingdom overnight,
As royal family members are found dead:
There aren’t apt words describing people’s plight;
All had been shot, the crown prince in his head!

The tragedy’s heart- rending a Hindu!
The sudden demise had filled vales with tears;
The mountain-land of millions twenty-two;
Who can fill up the void left by lost dears?

The beauty of the cloud-filled skies was gone;
A woeful mist covered each leaf and heart;
It will be years before new Hope’s reborn;
O God, help them forget and lives restart.

When woe befalls a nation near Heaven,
God, drive away untimely Death’s Raven.
