Sonnet: The World Of Selfish Men

In vain, I knock the doors of justice hard;
They keep it shut ignoring my hard knocks;
And in the meantime, I’ve been turned a bard;
Here-after, I believe in counter-shocks.

The world has people seeming deaf and blind,
Stone-hearted ones with cowardice afilled;
Unprincipled, their actions not streamlined;
They have ‘gold-teeth’ and bones that have been drilled!

A few attempt to dare to do things fair;
The rest are corrupt or favor the strong;
In middle-age, they’re paunched with scarce dyed-hair;
A selfish man can’t walk his own furlong!

And lazily, they waste their precious time,
And hide their crores to give others a dime!
