Sonnet: ’tis Tough To Lead An Honest Life

Life’s vicissitudes are hard to predict;
Its punishments too are cruel to bear;
Revocable’s any earthly edict;
Dishonesty wins a lot of fun-fair.

What’s the use of being most virtuous?
The educated ones are made ‘top fools; ’
An honestly done task is arduous;
There are for teaching vices, umptine schools.

Today’s world is full of man-made chaos;
The righteous find it hard to make ends meet;
Their ‘ship in waters’ sometimes turns off course!
God-dammed, a hasty retreat, they beat.

Man on earth has an Eel-like existence!
Success achieved is mostly much pretence.
