Sonnet: To A ‘lost’ Sibling

I miss my sibling, very much in truth;
A Roe she was, but enticed went astray;
A lovely gazelle, she was in her youth;
To come back to our fold, I wish and pray.

What quirk of fate allured her heart this way?
What sexual pangs of love had ravished her?
I can't forgive life for this cruel play;
Why did I fail to save her as brother?

Answer me Lord, my queries that I ask?
Could not Thou spare her from this hasty act?
0 free her soul, Lord for a divine task;
Her innocence, I still believe- a fact.

O spare her Lord from punishments, severe;
In like circumstances, would I not err?
