Sonnet: We Work For Others
Why till the soil whose owner is not me,
And waste my time, energy and my sweat?
Can I be sure to taste fruits of my tree,
Or leave it to another tongue and fret?
Why clean the house belonging not to me?
I am a tenant just paying the rent!
Why can’t I live a life more selfishly?
Why can’t I be perhaps independent?
If each one thought in such ways, maybe
We can’t enjoy this kind of luxury!
All things today that we enjoy, you see
Were from forefathers which time did bury.
No one is sure how came his property!
To give to others is God’s liberty!
