Sonnet: Whither Love Of Fellowmen?

The world is vast and yet has become small;
Our travel-time has dropped so markedly;
Tele-communication’s boon to all;
We tend to do both good and things deadly.

The world has shrunk and so have human hearts!
Their minds are selfish; Ego rules their acts;
Diseased is heart, mind, soul and body-parts;
Each human face is masked; disguised are facts.

Great things that Science affords are used to kill;
Destroyed are things in minutes, hours and days;
None care about the bill or effects ill;
In the same coin, his brethren, man repays.

Disaster threatens humankind and earth,
True love of fellowmen remains a dearth.
