Sorrow

Poem By Nancy ALf

I write a song in sorrow
many before have written thus
of the pointlessness of war.
Still it continues onwards
many more will die before end this era of destruction
maybe when none are left to do battle
the battles will finally cease.

Then the Earth will heal the wounds
that mankind has severed on her heart
peace will finally return
and the skulls of our people
will be all that remains of our once mighty nations

The cities will disappear into dust and the metal of our construction
will be nothing but rust
We will fade as we appeared into darkness
until eventually nothing recognisable remains and
No creature or soul remembers our name.

Sitting

I sit in this room escaping the anger
I sit in this room avoiding the glare
I sit in this room hiding myself from the overwhelming gloom
Let somebody else sooth, smooth, cool it

Time

Time creeps carefully
skillfully stalks and sneers
One minute its here then its gone
we didnt notice were carried along

A Trip

I Am
I sit here
heat warms me
candle light lights me

She Stands

She Stands Strong like a stone statue
Like a pillar in a proud building,
