Spring Storm

It was a springtime drippy day
As I went about my chores
I thought it would only sprinkle
Not like ocean waves on shore

But that wasn’t how it happened
For as I carried my grocery bags
Those swollen clouds above
Began to weep and sag

And then the lightening flashed
It lit my darkened world
Wind picked up and blew hard
Amongst it black clouds swirled

Puddles of water gathered
Everywhere that I went
I knew that nothing would change
Until the storm was spent

But you know, it’s okay, it really is
Vegetation needs moisture you know
It’s spring and that’s what happens
For lovely spring flowers to grow!
